How to correctly install and use glass distillation equipment

The packing of the glass distillation unit must be cleaned before packing. The tower wall and packing must be cleaned. Usually, it is first washed with dichloro-2-ene, then heat-treated with benzene once, and then filled after drying.

To add the filling, use a corner spoon to take a small amount of the filling from the top, or use a glass rod to dial it in directly. At this time, the tower should be tilted to avoid damaging the support frame when adding vertically. After that, add a small amount of filler in small amounts and multiple times, and use a wooden rubber hammer to gently vibrate the glass distillation unit tower during installation to avoid bridging. After filling, continue to vibrate for a while until the filling position no longer moves downward.

Add a layer of mesh on top of the packaging, put in some packaging, and install it on the kettle. The top is assembled with the top of the tower. If the metal mesh at the bottom of the tower top is ground and pressed under the ground pipe, the filler can be prevented from being impacted in the event of a flood. If no measures are taken, the packing will inevitably lead to floating when water logging occurs during the operation of the glass distillation unit column (especially at the top of the column). In severe cases, the packing can be flushed into the return line. This issue should attract attention.

Whether the glass distillation device can correctly install the packing determines the efficiency of the chromatographic column to a large extent. Its filling method is to add about 10ml of filler at a time, and hit the rectification device with wood chips to make the filler install tightly. So how to install and use the glass distillation device correctly?

1. Place the lifting platform at the appropriate location of the installation platform, adjust the height (reserve space for disassembly), and then place the electric heating jacket. Secure the flask in an electric heating sleeve and secure it with a flask clamp so that the bottle can rotate freely without moving up and down. Place zeolite or glass spring packs in bottles to prevent boiling. If a high-boiling substance is distilled, the flask must be kept warm.

2. Apply vacuum silicone grease to the grinding mouth of the flask, clamp the chromatographic column with a clamp, adjust the position of the clamp, connect the grinding mouth of the glass distillation device to the flask, and then rotate the chromatographic column to seal the interface. Clamp the distillation tower and pay attention to whether the main body of the distillation tower is twisted and whether it can move up and down.

3. Apply vacuum silicone grease to the grinding mouth of the glass distillation device, and then install the distillation head so that the grinding mouth of the distillation head is closely combined with the grinding mouth of the tower. The distillation head is clamped torque-free.

4. After installation, observe whether the glass distillation device is tilted from multiple angles. If it is tilted, reinstall it.

5. Continue to install the vacuum receiving device and fraction receiving device in the above manner. If you have a reflux ratio controller, have the electromagnet face the pendulum near the distillation head.
